Aimée Francis - Artistic Director/Co-FOUNDER

Aimée Francis (she/her) is overjoyed to be heading up Dirty Minds Theatre Company with this extraordinary team of passionate and talented artists. Aimée is the Conservatory Director for the Molloy/CAP21 BFA Musical Theatre Program.  She has been with CAP21 for over 20 years and has been an Administrator, Teacher, Director, and Advisor in all of the CAP21 programming including the NYU/Tisch School of the Arts BFA Program, the Professional Two-Year Training Program, the Industry Practicum Program, the Professional and High School Summer Intensives, and currently, the Molloy/CAP21 BFA Program.  Aimée is honored to have been in the room with countless incredibly gifted CAP21 alumni including artists who have received Tony Nominations, been principal roles on Broadway, in National Tours and at Regional Theaters.  Her former students can also be seen on the big screen and in television series.  As a teacher for CAP21, Aimée has taught Musical Scene Study, Acting Scene Study, Vocal Performance, Audition Technique and Script Analysis. Prior to her work with CAP21, Aimée has worn a variety of hats including Director, Teacher, Actress, Tour Manager and Administrator with such companies as The Augusta Barn Theatre (MI), Top Hat Productions (MI), Kidstuff Touring Musical Theatre (MI), Pennsylvania Stage Company (PA) and Jean Cocteau Repertory (NYC).  Some favorite past directing experiences include Andrew Lippa’s, The Wild PartyCABARETInto the WoodsCRY-BABYChildren of EdenA Quiet End, Big Mother, The Frog Prince and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.  Aimée also directed and co-authored an original musical piece with Broadway Actor and CAP21 dance faculty member Austin Eyer entitled Hardback Fantasies and Paperback Secrets.

J. Nick Gonzalez - Co-FOUNDER

J Nick (he/him/his/they/them) is an actor, singer, director, designer, and drag artist. Graduate of Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and CAP21 Conservatory. Was the assistant director, assistant choreographer, and hair and makeup designer for CAP21’s production of Crybaby under the direction of Aimee Francis. Acting credits include A Chorus Line (Bucks County CPA) and Hamlet (Club Cumming). His work in fashion has been seen on the runway at New York Fashion Week and at the Met Gala.

Grace McCarney - Co-FOunder

Grace (she/her) is so excited to be a part of the Dirty Minds team. She is an LA native who considers herself nerdy yet cool. She is a singer, actor, dancer, comedienne, and lover of books, travel, TV, and film. She moved to New York to go to the CAP21 2-Year Professional Program. Previously she studied Drama at UC Irvine. Since graduating from CAP21 she has been studying Improv at UCB. She assistant directed a production of On The Town. She and her close friends produced a sold-out cabaret titled Tale as Old as Wine. Grace also teaches theater at an after school program on the Upper West Side. Former favorite shows include: A Chorus Line, Little Women, How to Succeed…, and Sweet Charity. Idols include: Carol Burnett, Emma Watson, Tina Fey and many more. Grace is so looking forward to her adventures with Dirty Minds.

Cate Digirolamo - Co-Founder

Cate (she/her) is a Lighting Designer and Production/Stage Manager who has worked for Gate Theatre Notting Hill, Royal Court Theatre, and Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London, and more recently CAP21, Gingold Theatrical Group, Soho Rep, Writopia Lab, and Wide Eyed Productions in NYC. She received her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.

JACK SALEEBY - BOARD MEMBER

Jack (he/him/his) is a NYC queer storyteller. Born and raised in Connecticut, Jack has had an affinity for telling stories since he was a young child. A proud Pisces, lover of wine, and world traveler, Jack is committed to creating theatre that is inclusive and innovative.
